ActiveX NewsObjects supports failover, which is the ability to automatically transfer a connection from one NewsEdge Server to a backup server after a server fault, timeout, or administrative operation. A "redundant pair" is a NewsEdge Server installation that consists of a primary server and a backup server. When one NewsEdge Server becomes unavailable due to either scheduled maintenance or a fault, you can automatically transfer your session to the other NewsEdge Server.
